Jungheinrich and One Network awarded for Smart Logistics

Winners of 2015 Smart Logistics Award together with the jury

BME China and Unity Consulting honored solutions for warehouse management and supply chain logistics with the Smart Logistics Award 2015.

On September 21st the BME China and Unity Consulting jointly honored two international companies with the prestigious Smart Logistics Award. In the category "Warehouse Management" the prize goes to Jungheinrich, a Germany-based specialist for logistics systems and services. One Network, a US-based specialist for supply chain IT solutions, received the prize in the category "Supply Chain Logistics" for a smart technology they established in their logistics processes. The award ceremony was held during the “BME China Sourcing Conference 2015” in Shanghai.

Jungheinrich got the prize for best warehouse management with their project “VNA Warehouse Navigation System for Customer VF”. The solution provides customers with IT-controlled navigation for forklift trucks. It enables users to simplify their warehouse management significantly and facilitates the warehouse workers’ tasks. One Network convinced with their project “Sinopharm SAVE Project”. Their concept integrates all necessary information flows within the supply chain and is cloud-based. It also offers real time data exchange. It has already been successfully executed and can therefore act as a role model to other companies.

With the Smart Logistics Award China, BME and Unity aim to put China’s rapid development and logistics innovations in the spotlight. The evaluation process was conducted under the guidance of an expert jury consisting of Mr. Egbert Basan (Former Vice President of Logistics at BMW-Brilliance Automotive), Professor Chen Ming (Vice Director of Sino-German College of Applied Science at Tongji University), Mr. Anton Pietsch (CEO at BME Asia), Mr. Xiaolong Hu (Managing Director at Unity China), and Mr. Teja Washausen (Partner at Unity Germany). The award jury put special emphasis on the use of IT, particularly big data and automation technology topics, being implemented within China.
